If you love the thrill of live countryside action, the Main Arena at the GWCT Scottish Game Fair is the place to be. Set at the heart of the event, the Main Arena is the focal point of the fair. where the energy, tradition and spectacle of rural Scotland come together. Throughout the day it hosts an exciting programme of gundog demonstrations, falconry displays, pipe bands, equestrian showcases and much more, offering visitors a chance to see skilled handlers, magnificent animals and time-honoured country pursuits in action.

Dog Shows and Demonstrations 

Hound Parade

A traditional parade introducing different hunting hound packs, explaining breeding, purpose and countryside heritage while meeting knowledgeable huntsmen and handlers. View Timetable 

Terrier Racing

Energetic terriers race along a straight sprint track, showcasing speed, enthusiasm and friendly competition in a fun, family-friendly arena spectacle. View Timetable

Rare Breeds of Scotland

Each day will host a Rare Breeds Meet-Up, shining a spotlight on Hounds, Gundogs and Terriers, and celebrating their heritage and role in the countryside.View Timetable

Gundog Displays

Mordor Gundogs, led by Charlie Thorburn and Ash Cunliffe, showcases 14 expertly trained dogs in a lively working display, featuring controlled flushes, confident retrieves. View Timetable

Equestrian Displays

Working Hill Ponies

The Working Hill Ponies return to the Main Arena for a traditional display of skill and partnership, followed on Sunday by the prestigious Fred Taylor Memorial Competition. View Timetable

Peagus Valuting Group

Pegasus Vaulting Group is a charity that runs weekly Equestrian Vaulting sessions for children aged 5 through adults at our base in Killiecrankie, Highland Perthshire.

We have vaulters at all levels from beginners who enjoy vaulting for fitness and bonding with the horses up to the international elite level. This year, our display also featured horses and vaulters who performed at the Horse of the Year Show 2025.

We have just returned from two international competitions with much success and personal best scores and looking forward to a summer full on training opperunities and then the regional and British championships towards the end of the year.
